Joni Baczewski,

Co-Founder, Co-director

Joni Baczewski is currently a full-time violist with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and in

2016, she was chosen to be the acting Assistant Principal of the Viola Section for one year.

Ms. Baczewski is also currently involved in the after school program for the Keller ISD and has had titles of string specialist and for one year, acting Director of the program.  She was appointed as viola instructor at University of Texas in Arlington for five years and Texas Christian University for nine years.  Joni taught viola, chamber music, viola excerpt classes, special studies, and was involved in recruiting in both universities.  She says that her many years of Suzuki teaching (over 14 years) has given her the foundation for understanding how to teach young children violin and viola.  She also said that being the first director of the Keller ISD Summer Strings Camp (starting in 2015) is a different kind of hard work, but it also has given her a different kind of understanding in what students need in order to be successful.  Recently, she has become Co-Director and founder of Arco Chamber Music Summer Camp with her colleague Chi Oh.  Ms. Baczewski was the violist of the Gallard String Quartet, a professional string quartet, for six years which performed in many cities.  Ms. Baczewski has a double degree in Music Performance -Viola, and Music Education from The University of North Texas and has graduate studies in Viola performance from The University of North Texas and private instruction from The Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
